Portraiture that is timeless, Heirloom quality, and Original.
I specialize in an artform that is inspired by 19th Century painters, as well as the photo journalists and fashion photographers. Museums and Iconic Magazines like Life, Vogue and Vanity fair of my youth and now adulthood have inspired me and motivated me to create timeless portraits.
Our history has been filled with wonderful, and inspiring paintings and photographs. I have a deep understanding of light and color, but even more, an empathy for my subjects, always considering the people who I am photographing more then the cookie cutter images we see so much of.
Portraiture is a complicated thing, including how you wish to be seen and how you really look in the world. My art combines all of that into an expression of you. A representation of you that you can be proud to leave as an heirloom. At the same time, the experience is relaxed and fun. We chat, we snack, we do what ever feels right at the moment.
I create one of a kind backdrops for almost every session. We have an in depth consultion, soo I can learn about what you love and do not love so much. I get a picture of who you are and how you very much want to be reflected in a photograph. This way the image really represents you . These are images worthy of the title Heirloom.

The Kingston Project
I have starting working on a fantastic project photographing the vibrant arts community of Kingston, NY. This community is rich in artists, musicians, artisans, all kinds of makers and do-ers. I started with my home - The Shirt Factory. Here there is a community of artists and musicians and creatives of all kinds, that live and work. Soon it was clear that the entire area of Kingston should be included. From painters, sculptors and printers, photographers, furniture builders, fabric designers, silversmiths and potters, this community os home to so much talent. On any given night you can hear great music at Tubby’s, UPAC, or any of the fabulous watering holes. There are several loft conversions housing the workshops and studios of artists and crafts people alike. Film makers are drawn to this place I call home.
Here are a few of the portraits. This is an on going project.
Mitzvah’s
During the Pandemic years many Bat and Bar Mitzvah’s were held in backyards, or other outdoor areas. The Rabbi brought a portable Ark, and some had small travel Torahs.
The Pandemic ceremonies were especially poignant, proving our resilience and love of our children.
